Conclusion of the Third Meeting of the Climate Ambassadors Program in Damietta
Damietta – February 5, 2025 – The activities of the third meeting of the Climate Ambassadors Training Program - Phase Three, which is held under the title "Conflict Resolution" within the Capacity Building Program for the Integrated Coastal Zone Management Plan, concluded today. This program is part of the project to enhance adaptation to climate change in the Nile Delta and the North Coast.
The activities witnessed intensive discussions and working groups, which focused on training in conflict resolution and analysis skills, and working to avoid it. These trainings will contribute to raising the capabilities and personal characteristics of the participants, and building cadres capable of managing the challenges of the effects of climate change on the coasts of the Nile Delta and the North Coast.
Mr. Dr. Mohamed Ahmed Ali, the Executive Director of the project, announced that the fourth phase of the Climate Ambassadors program will be launched in the coming months, and this phase will witness the participation of 40 ambassadors from the bodies concerned with managing coastal areas. This expansion aims to increase the number of climate ambassadors capable of conveying the idea and principles of integrated coastal zone management to the executive bodies to which they belong.
Ali explained that the project's target from this program is to reach 160 climate ambassadors, distributed among the various concerned bodies. This comes within the framework of the continuous efforts to achieve sustainability in the efforts to adapt to the effects of climate change in the coastal area on the Mediterranean Sea, under the umbrella of the principles of integrated management.
