The Awareness Week on the Concept of Climate Change Continues its Efforts for the Third Day, Highlighting State Initiatives
The activities of the Awareness Week on the Concept of Climate Change continue for the third consecutive day, within the framework of the awareness campaign launched under the generous patronage of His Excellency Professor Dr. Hani Sewilam, Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation, and His Excellency Professor Dr. Ayman El-Shehaby, Governor of Damietta. This campaign is being implemented through the project "Enhancing Adaptation to Climate Change in the Nile Delta and the Northern Coast," with the aim of raising awareness among coastal community groups in the governorates where the project has implemented protection works.
In the context of these important events, the employees of TAQA Gas Company in Damietta Governorate today welcomed the project team to hold a targeted awareness seminar for the company's staff. The project team included: Dr. Mohamed Ahmed Ali, Executive Director of the Project; Engineer Abdel-Razek Mohamed, Site Engineer for the Project; Mr. Hassan Gabrallah, Media Coordinator for the Project; and Engineer Mohamed El-Daly, Director of Environment in Damietta Governorate and the Project's Climate Ambassador.
The seminar addressed in detail the causes of climate change throughout different eras, in addition to reviewing the activities and initiatives undertaken by the Project for Enhancing Adaptation to Climate Change in Damietta Governorate. The seminar also highlighted the intensive efforts exerted by the Egyptian state to confront the effects of climate change on various levels.
This seminar is part of a series of events and awareness activities organized by the project with the aim of enhancing awareness of the importance of the climate change issue and the necessity of concerted efforts to face its challenges, and highlighting the pivotal role played by the state in protecting coastal areas and local communities from the impacts of climate change.
