The Awareness Week on the Concept of Climate Change Continues, Highlighting State Initiatives and Dedicated Efforts in this Regard.

For the fourth consecutive day, the activities of the Awareness Week aimed at enhancing understanding of the concept of climate change continue, within the framework of the major awareness campaign generously sponsored by His Excellency Professor Dr. Hani Sewilam, Minister of Water Resources and Irrigation, and His Excellency Professor Dr. Ayman El-Shehaby, Governor of Damietta. This unique initiative is being implemented through the project "Enhancing Adaptation to Climate Change in the Nile Delta and the Northern Coast," striving to raise the level of awareness among coastal communities in the governorates that have already witnessed protection works carried out by the project.

In the context of these important events, Engineer Ashraf Fathy, Head of the Damietta Development Authority, welcomed the project team, which included Dr. Mohamed Ahmed Ali, Executive Director of the Project, and Mr. Hassan Gabrallah, Media Coordinator, to hold a specialized awareness seminar targeting the authority's staff.
Engineer Ashraf Fathy emphasized the paramount importance of the awareness-raising role in enhancing citizens' and society's understanding of the tangible efforts exerted by the state to confront the challenges and impacts of climate change.

The seminar witnessed a remarkable attendance from employees of the Damietta City Development Authority and health administration personnel, and it delved deeply and analytically into the causes of climate change across various time periods. The seminar also reviewed the strategic activities and initiatives implemented by the Project for Enhancing Adaptation to Climate Change in Damietta Governorate. Furthermore, it clearly highlighted the relentless efforts made by the Egyptian state at various levels to confront the repercussions resulting from climate change.
This seminar is an integral part of a comprehensive series of events and awareness activities organized by the project with the aim of establishing awareness of the importance of the climate change issue and the necessity of concerted efforts to face its challenges. These activities also aim to highlight the pivotal and strategic role played by the state in protecting coastal areas and local communities from the negative impacts of climate change.
