The activities of the Integrated Coastal Zone Management Plan in Damietta Governorate continued on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, with a training workshop on "Crisis and Disaster Management",The workshop brought together the integrated committees' work teams from the governorates of Port Said and North Sinai.

Dr. Ayman Al-Shahaby, Governor of Damietta, chaired the training workshop for members of the Integrated Coastal Zone Management Committee at the historic Damietta Bridge, "The Bridge of Civilization," in the presence of Major General Mohamed Hammam, Secretary-General of the Governorate, Dr. Mohamed Ahmed Ali, Executive Director of the project to enhance climate change adaptation in the North Coast and the Nile Delta in Egypt, Dr. Yasser El-Komy, an expert in strategic planning and governance at the project, Engineer Mohamed El-Dali, Director of Environmental Affairs in Damietta Governorate, and members of the Integrated Coastal Zone Management Committee in the governorates of Port Said and North Sinai.

The workshop included an intensive program to train and equip participants with the knowledge and skills necessary for advanced planning and preparedness to deal with crises and disasters, thereby reducing human and material losses. It also provided participants with the skills necessary to make sound decisions under pressure and manage available resources efficiently. The workshop emphasized the importance of strengthening cooperation between various stakeholders involved in crisis and disaster management, contributing to improved response and raising public awareness of the importance of disaster preparedness and how to deal with them.
