Alexandria Governor Holds Meeting to Discuss Coastal Protection Projects
In the framework of confronting climate change, a meeting was held under the chairmanship of Major General Mohamed El-Sherif, Governor of Alexandria, with Professor Dr. Essam Khalifa, Head of the Egyptian General Authority for Coast Protection, in the presence of Dr. Mohamed Ahmed Ali, Executive Director of the Climate Adaptation Enhancement Project in the Nile Delta and the North Coast #eccadp, Dr. Yousri El-Komi, Expert in Strategic and Government Planning, Engineer Ezzat Abdel Hamid, Director of the General Administration of Coastal Protection in West Delta, and Engineer Nevin El-Lithy, Deputy Governor for Climate Change Affairs in the Governorate. The meeting discussed the progress rates of the coastal protection projects in Alexandria, the project's activities related to the protection of the Delta region, and the integrated management plan for the coastal areas along the Mediterranean coast. Major General El-Sherif, Governor of Alexandria, directed the formation of a committee in the governorate to follow up on the implementation of the integrated management plan for the coastal areas along the Mediterranean coast, within the framework of the state's directives to achieve the goals of sustainable development.
