As part of ongoing efforts to enhance climate change adaptation in the Nile Delta and northern coast, the first day of the third phase training program for Climate Ambassadors concluded today. This program is a key component of the capacity building program within the Integrated Coastal Zone Management Plan, the second component of the climate change adaptation project.
The program witnessed broad participation from 40 ambassadors representing a select group of professionals working in government and research institutions related to the management of Mediterranean coastal zones. This program aims to build national capacities to address future climate challenges and strengthen cooperation among various stakeholders.
The training day began with a welcome address by Dr. Mohamed Ahmed Ali, Executive Director of the project, who expressed his best wishes for the ambassadors' success in the various training phases of the program and their quick integration into the project's team of climate ambassadors.
The program's activities continued with the provision of effective communication skills to the ambassadors. Dr. Yousri El-Komy, a project expert in strategic planning and governance, delivered an intensive workshop that covered the importance of effective communication in daily life and work, and how to utilize these skills to achieve the project's objectives.
It is worth noting that the Climate Ambassadors program is an integral part of the Integrated Coastal Zone Management Plan, which aims to develop a comprehensive plan for managing coastal zones, taking into account the various activities carried out in these areas and relying on the latest scientific knowledge, modeling tools, and accurate data to support decision-makers. Climate ambassadors from the first and second phases will also participate in the third phase, contributing to strengthening cooperation between them and the new ambassadors and crystallizing the plan's activities at the level of coastal govern orates.
