Climate Change Adaptation Awareness Campaign Reaches Damietta Governorate

Dr. Mohamed Ahmed Ali, Executive Director of the "Enhancing Adaptation to Climate Change in the Nile Delta and North Coast" project, announced the continuation of the awareness campaign in the coastal communities of Damietta Governorate. The first phase involves conducting a survey among the coastal community groups about the concept of climate change and assessing the extent of citizens' awareness of the state's efforts to address the effects of climate change.

Hassan Gabralla, the project's Media Coordinator, noted that the second phase of the awareness campaign in Damietta Governorate is expected to be completed in April. It will include several awareness seminars for different community groups, based on the results of the first phase survey.

This campaign embodies the fruitful cooperation between various Egyptian state agencies and donor organizations, which has resulted in tangible results in protecting lives, property, and infrastructure from the risk of inundation. It also contributes to creating a safe and stable environment for investment and providing new job opportunities for the people of coastal communities.
