Phase Two of the Climate Change Ambassadors Program Begins with Training on Communication Skills

The second phase of the Climate Change Ambassadors Program, a component of the Integrated Coastal Zone Management Plan for the Climate Change Adaptation Enhancement Project in the Nile River Delta and the North Coast, has officially commenced. This seven-month program, running from May 2024 to the end of the year, aims to expand the network of ambassadors within coastal management entities and institutions in the Mediterranean Sea region. The program focuses on promoting integrated coastal management practices and enhancing the skills and personal qualities of the ambassadors, including conflict resolution and media skills. The first day of the program kicked off with a presentation summarizing the project's activities by Dr. Mohamed Ahmed Ali, the project's executive director. This was followed by a training session on communication skills led by Dr. Yasry El-Komi, the project's strategic planning and governance expert. The session highlighted the importance of effective communication in daily life, particularly in the workplace. Notably, the first phase of the Climate Change Ambassadors Program will join forces with the second phase to collaborate on planning activities and foster cooperation at the governorate level. The Climate Change Ambassadors Program is an outcome of the capacity-building program for the Integrated Coastal Zone Management Plan for the Climate Change Adaptation Enhancement Project in the Nile River Delta and the North Coast. The overall goal of the project is to develop a comprehensive plan that considers all activities in the coastal zone, relying on the latest scientific knowledge, modeling tools, and accurate data to support decision-makers.
